Only four months after its reopening, I took these photos at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in Harlem. It’s arguably the fourth largest Christian church on the planet, but fifth place would have been fine with me. It quite thoroughly outclassed both my kit and my skills. As one Queens native put it to me, it’s one of those things you must, as a New Yorker, see before you die. Did I mention the peacock?
