Softball: A Thinking Man’s Game

Oh the glory of it all! The Center for American Progress’s Leftfielders whooped some ultra-con ass on the softball field last week, beating the Heritage Foundation’s Capitalist Fools club in D.C. Think Tank League action. Bitter-sweet memories for Andrew: During my time at the Center, I played exactly zero innings with the Leftfielders. I always seemed to have class or an overdue essay that summer and never even made it to the diamond. It’s the kind of left-out feeling future Leafs captain Mats Sundin had not long after being traded from the Québec Nordiques/soon-to-be-Stanley-Cup-Champions Colorado Avalanche. But wait... shit, does that mean journalism school is the Toronto Maple Leafs???

It’s official. Journalism school was unequivocally the Toronto Maple Leafs.
